About Us

The TRIO Programs, through a supportive environment, empower underrepresented students to access postsecondary education & to achieve academic success leading to a postsecondary degree. TRIO federal programs includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. At the University of Utah, two programs are housed, Upward Bound for high school students and Student Support Services for college students.
