Welcome TRIO students! We hope that you had a great summer and are excited to start a new semester here at the U! As we kick off the school year, we want to remind you that all new TRIO students are required to register and attend our orientation sessions taking place September 3rd and 4th. Additionally, please ensure that you complete your intake appointment by September 19th to access all the resources and support that we offer! This semester, we have an exciting lineup of workshops and social events designed to help you succeed academically and connect with others! Remember that we are here to support you every step of the way, so don’t hesitate to come by our office if you have questions, need a comfortable place to study, or just want to say hello! Let’s make this a great year together!

From orientation events to the first day of classes, August sets the tone for the semester ahead. Be sure to check your calendars, prepare your materials, and get ready to make the most of the opportunities coming your way. We have many great opportunities planned for you this coming Fall 2025 semester and look forward to providing support in your undergrad journey. To those who are participating in Summer courses through Strong Start, TRIO, or general UofU summer session, we hope you are having a great experience! Please reach out if you are needing support with this summer semester.

In the next few days, we will be having our First Generation Conference and our Career Exploration Workshop. Come celebrate the unique experiences of our first-generation community at the University of Utah, and let us help you figure out your future plans!

Welcome Back! I hope you all had a restful winter break. We are so excited to have you back for Spring semester and simply want to express a warm and enthusiastic welcome as we begin this new semester. We are glad you are here and hope you have an amazing semester!

As the semester comes to an end and finals week approaches, things can get a little rough. Turning your last assignments, studying for final exams, and writing papers might get the best of you, but don't let it stop you from closing out the semester on a positive note. Do your best and remember that winter break is just around the corner!

Hello September! As September dawns, we embrace the transition from summer to fall, welcoming the beauty of nature's transformation!

Welcome Back!

Another school year down, hurray! We want to let you all know that the TRIO Staff will be available to you all during the summer semester. If you are taking summer classes, don't hesitate to stop by! Gentle reminder, we have snacks and food in the office. Come and have lunch with us!

Finals are near, but don't fear. The TRIO team is coming up with ideas to help you feel your very best. Give your final exam and projects all you got, we will have finals week goodie bags for our students. More info soon, keep a look out for emails and text messages :)

Spring Break is around the corner! We wish you all luck with midterm exams and projects in the month of March! Stop on by for a quiet study space or to chat and de-stress! A reminder that we have cup noodles for our students, free of charge. Come have lunch with us.

A warm welcome back to Donna Jordan- Allen! Donna was on a short leave but has returned and looks forward to meeting with her students. We thank Sierra Whipple-Padgen for stepping in while Donna was away. Given all the recent staff changes, students please take note of your advisor, and we will update you when the new SSS Manager is hired!

Welcome Back! Thank you to everyone who came to our ice skating social. Let's skate into another great semester.
